Os garotos de Liverpool emplacaram cinco clássicos das 20 primeiras da lista, que foi elaborada pela equipe da publicação. Stairway to Heaven, clássico do Led Zeppelin, ficou em primeiro lugar em uma lista das melhores músicas de todos os tempos, organizada pela Virgin, informou o Ananova.
Mais de 20 mil pessoas votaram e, surpreendentemente, os
BEATLES não ficaram entre os dez primeiros.
Liderado por Robert Plant, o
LED ZEPPELIN superou também a música One, do U2, e Sweet Child ´O Mine, do Guns´n Roses, que ficou em terceiro lugar.
John Lennon em carreira solo também superou os Beatles. Sua música Imagine ficou em sexto lugar, enquanto Let it Be, dos Beatles, aparece apenas na 11ª posição.
Outros clássicos na lista são Bohemiam Rhapsody, do Queen, em 7º; Brown Eyed Girl, de Van Morrison, em 12º; e Wonderwall, da banda Oasis, em 19º.
